One of the best ways to protect yourself and our Mason community is to get your flu shot each year. Student Health Services offers flu shots for students by appointment. Available seasonally, while supplies last.

Flu Shot Cost

$30 Students. Pay fees online through the Mason Marketplace.

Students with the university Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan can get their flu shot for FREE at any Student Health Services clinic; your insurance covers the cost of the flu vaccination at an in-network provider.

Students with other health insurance: Giant Pharmacy will be on-site at the Oct. 14 flu shot clinic to provide vaccination to students who would like to use their health insuranceFlu vaccination is no-cost with most health insurance plans when you get your flu vaccine with an in-network provider (Dept. of Health and Human Services). Student Health cannot guarantee coverage or payment by your insurance company.

If you have other health insurance, contact your health insurance provider before getting your flu shot with Student Health Services. Student Health does not bill health insurance. Students can self-pay, then submit a statement to their insurance plan. Statements are available in the Patient Portal. Student Health cannot guarantee coverage or payment by your insurance company.

Where can I get a flu vaccine locally?

Flu vaccines are offered in many doctor’s offices, clinics, health departments, and pharmacies.

Use the resources on the CDC  vaccine website (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/adults/find-vaccines.html) or contact your health insurance provider about where you can get your flu vaccine.

With most health insurance plans, the flu vaccine is generally a covered service as long as you get it in-network (Dept. of Health and Human Services).
