How do I get my health insurance ID card?

Generally, you can get a copy of your health insurance ID card by contacting your health insurance provider. Many have an online website, app, or portal where you can download or access your information.

Students with the Aetna Student Health Insurance can access their member website and register for an account to download/print a copy of their health insurance id card before the event.

What is the cost?

Preventive vaccines are generally covered by health insurance when given by an in-network provider.  Giant Pharmacy will administer vaccines.

Check with your health insurance plan about coverage prior to the event.

Giant accepts most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Medicare Part B & D. Giant accepts the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan.

Student Health Services cannot guarantee coverage or payment by your health insurance company.

What vaccines are available?

HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9), Meningitis ACWY vaccine, Meningitis B vaccine (Trumenba and Bexsero). Getting multiple vaccines at the same visit is safe and effective.

Who should consider vaccination?

The HPV vaccine is recommended for those age 9 – 26. If you started the series but didn’t finish it, you can finish your series. If you’re age 26 – 45 you may also benefit from vaccination after discussion with your health care provider.

Both Meningococcal ACWY and B have caused small outbreaks on college campuses. Student Health Services recommends students living in residence halls consider meningitis vaccination or complete their series.

Meningitis ACWY vaccine is recommended for those up to age 21.  Meningitis B vaccine is recommended for those up to age 23.

Talk with your health care provider or Student Health Services about which vaccines are right for you.  You can stop by the event to get answers to your questions.

What are the benefits of HPV and meningitis vaccines?

The HPV vaccine protects against certain cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and protects against genital warts.

Meningitis ACWY and Meningitis B vaccines protect against most common causes of the disease and reduce the spread of these infections. Meningitis is an uncommon, but very serious infection that causes swelling in the lining of the brain and spinal cord.

How would I finish my series?

You can schedule with Giant Pharmacy for the next dose(s), or another in-network provider of your choice.

Students with the Aetna Student Health Insurance plan may also schedule with Student Health Services for any of the vaccines.
