Update your opt-in preference for text messages

Student Health Services has recently updated our text messaging capabilities. To continue receiving text messages from Student Health, you need to opt-in in the Patient Portal. Text messages include appointment reminders and secure message notifications.

Even if you have opted-in before, you must update your preference. If you do not opt-in again, your text message reminders will stop.

How to receive text messages from Student Health Services:

    • Go to the Student Health Services Patient Portal.
    • Sign into the Patient Portal. Select George Mason University as your school.
    • Go to “Forms” from the navigation menu.
    • Complete the Texting Opt-in/Opt-out form in the Required Forms section.
