I am isolating/quarantining, how can I seek help navigating available support resources?
Students who are in quarantine or isolation (either on- or off-campus) and need help navigating available support resources (including well-being, mental health, or academic support), can complete the COVID-19 Quaratine/Isolation Self-Referral Form which can be found on the ssac.gmu.edu website (select FORMS in the navigation menu). A staff member from Student Support and Advocacy Center will contact you to discuss.
During the pandemic, being in quarantine or isolation can cause people to experience many different thoughts or emotions. Aside from physical isolation, sometimes we feel emotionally isolated because we are not sure if others who are not in the same situation will understand our experience. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will offer a virtual drop-in support space for students currently in quarantine or isolation every Tuesday at 11 am and Friday at 1 pm. There is no registration or a minimum number of groups. Visit: https://caps.gmu.edu/upcoming-events/, and open the Quarantine and Connection Support Space dropdown. Click “Virtual Support Space Link” to access the support spaces.
