Local Urgent Care Resources

An urgent care center may be a good resource for non-immediate or non-life threatening concerns when Student Health is closed. Check the facility’s hours of operation. Several local Urgent Care Centers and Emergency Rooms are listed below.

If you have health insurance, check about costs or co-pays associated with urgent care or emergency room care or admission. To find facilities which accept the university Student Health Insurance Plan, click here to use the Find Providers search on their website.

To avoid the the Student Health Insurance Plan Emergency Room co-pay, look for an Urgent Care that is NOT a full-service emergency room.

Community Referrals Notice: Community referrals are provided as a courtesy and do not reflect an endorsement of the provider or a guarantee of service, quality, insurance coverage or clinical outcome. Refer to each facility or organization for eligibility requirements and availability of services.

Urgent Dental Care

If you have health insurance, contact your insurance provider to help you find a local dentist. Ensure the dental care provider you select accepts your dental insurance. If you have experienced dental trauma you may go to a local Emergency Services or Urgent Care facility. George Mason University does not provide nor endorse a dental care provider.

To locate a nearby dentist for urgent care you can do an online search for local urgent or emergent dental care or use a business directory to find a local dentist.

Retail-Based Health Clinics

A retail based health care clinic may be an option for a non-emergency or non-urgent care situation. Many clinics can diagnose minor or acute illnesses, see patients for immunizations and provide preventive care. Minute Clinic operated by CVS is one local option.
